What we do

Valuation tribunals are independent bodies that hear appeals against:

non-domestic rating	completion notices
council tax valuation	drainage assessments
council tax liability	penalties for failure to provide requested information.

The Valuation Tribunal Service (VTS) provides the services needed to support the work of valuation tribunals in England, in particular:

accommodation	staff (including clerks to tribunals)
information technology	equipment
training for members and staff	general advice about procedure

The VTS Chief Executive’s Office is in London, but most staff are located in the valuation tribunal offices around the country. Location Details .
